Something’s coming…

I just finished watching the new episode of Desperate Housewives, 4×09 “Something’s coming”. ABC has been making promo for this episode for the last 2-3 weeks, and the result is absolutely breathtaking. They announced special effects, an enormous budget…it’s all there. Even if the tornado part isn’t very long, the episode is just the season’s best one.
/WARNING – Spoilers under !/
While a tornado is coming to Wisteria Lane, the neighbourhood is preparing for this meeting with Mother Nature.
Susan’s dealing with Mike’s drug addiction, and has a little confrontation with Orson, who provided his husband pills for “shoulder pain”. After having an argument with Mike, she falls down the stairs, and they both go to the hospital, where Mike blames a hospital staff for being too slow to have a look at Susan’s situation. He finishes handcuffed to a chair, and Susan wants him to go to rehab, otherwise she’ll leave her. Mike accepts, and they spend the tornado watch in the hospital.
Gabrielle is planning to leave Fairview with her new-ex lover and husband Carlos. She finds out that Victor is being released from the hospital. While a banker (I dunno what is the guy’s job…) come to see Gaby and finds Edie in front of the Solis’, Edie pretends to be Gabrielle, and takes the secret folder with the $10 million retrievement procedure. Gaby intrudes into Edie’s house, and try to take the papers. They both go fighting outside, while the tornado approaches. So, they hide inside Edie’s house, where Gaby apologizes for having hurt Edie. Carlos confronts Victor, the latter tries to kill him. Victor finishes transfixed by a fence, and Carlos is hurt to the head by a piece of wood. Victor is dead, while Carlos’s future is uncertain…
Bree runs into an argument between Katherine and Sylvia, the latter claiming that Adam and her slept together, back in Chicago. Katherine spits on her face, and Sylvia goes crying in her car. Bree, as curious as ever, invites Sylvia for a cup of tea. The two of them talks about what happenned between Sylvia and Adam. When Bree wants her to leave, she locks herself in the bathroom -where Bree and Orson planned on hiding during the tornado watch-, demanding Adam’s presence. Bree goes to “borrow” Adam from Katherine, but even with Adam’s presence, Sylvia doesn’t want to go out. The Mayfairs and the Hodges hides in a small cupboard, and both are talking about Sylvia’s presence. Bree mentionned the only detail that can prove that Sylvia and Adam slept together : a snake tatoo on Adam’s arm. She however supports Katherine in this difficult moment. Sylvia finally quits the house, believing that everybody left, but she seems to have forgotten that there’s a tornado outside…Goodbye Sylvia !
Lynette goes to visit Mrs Mc Clusky in order to stay in her basement for the tornado watch. Karen accepts after a looooong discussion about the kids etc, but she tells Lynette that she also invited Ida Greenberg over for cards. So, Lynette, Tom, Kayla, Porter, Parker, Preston and Penny (1, 2, 3….7 okay, no one’s missing) rush into the basement like a tornado (well, “worse” according to Karen), and Penny starts to making noise with a big spoon (I dunno what it is). Poor Ida and Karen ;-) . As Tom is allergic to cats and as Ida’s only family is a cat that, of course, she brought with her, Lynette attempts to get the cat outside. Karen prevents her from doing it, and the two of them are outside, Mrs Mc Clusky looking for the cat, and Lynette trying to take her back inside the house. They finally go hiding at The Scavos’, in the bathroom.
After the tornado’s passage, Susan is fine with Mike ; Bree, Orson, Katherine and Adam too. Gaby and Edie gets out of the basement safe, while there’s no news about Carlos and Victor. Lynette and Mc Clusky get out fine too, but Karen’s house (with the Scavos and Ida) is totally destroyed. Lynette starts seeking her family under the ruins, when the episode ends…
So, what happened to Carlos ? and to the Scavos ? And where are Bob and Lee ? (yes, okay, they’ve been missing for several episodes)
To be continued…
/WARNING – Spoilers above !/
To conclude, this episode is really really the BEST episode of this 4th season. 20.59 million viewers yesterday evening, that’s season 4’s record. I’m really looking forward to seeing the next episode, when the strike will be over … :)

2 Réponses to “Something’s coming…”

  1. This episode is just great. Huge should I say…
    Victor’s dead, but who’s the other guy ? Carlos ? Tom ?
    Can’t wait next Monday.

  2. Well, there will be no episode next week, it’s the winter break…and because of the strike, the 10th episode remains unfinished…So I guess we’ll have to wait until next year (January, I hope…). I believe that the dead “friend” is Ida Greenberg…
